Choosing a Titanium Alloy: Is UNS R58640 Right for You?

When it comes to choosing a titanium alloy for your operations, there are a lot of factors to take into consideration. Do you need one with a low density? The UNS R58640 titanium is commonly listed under the ASTM grade of titanium known as Beta-C or Grade 19. This is one of the stronger alloys and is used in the majority of high-strength applications. Additionally, it is the smallest group of alloys, falling into the beta alloy category and can be heat treated. It has a strong hardenability factor that needs to be considered as well.

The titanium grade 19 alloy has a low density, a low thermal expansion, low wear resistance, and superior corrosion resistance.
